Among the wide range of dairy products available on the market, butter is a product that is recommended in the daily diet of a healthy person due to the better absorption and assimilation of its biologically active ingredients.

Butter is a product with a high fat content, contains at least 80% fat, but not more than 90%, it is a product obtained from cow's milk in the process of whipping pre-prepared cream. It is a food product with excellent taste and aroma, as well as high nutritional value and health benefits. Butter is the oldest and noblest animal fat known to man for a long time, and it still occupies an important place among modern fatty products appearing on the domestic market. It is especially recommended for use by children under 7 years old, pregnant and lactating women.

Annual oil consumption per person varies greatly across Europe. The largest amount of oil is consumed in France (7.9 kg), Germany (6.3 kg), as well as Austria and Iceland (5.3 kg each), and the smallest - in Spain (0.5 kg) and Hungary and Croatia (1.0 kg). In our country, the average Ukrainian consumes only 1 kg of oil annually, just like in Hungary and Croatia, although the recommended consumption rate for this product is almost 6 kg.

In Ukraine, butter is most often bought once a week, mainly in medium-sized stores. Dominated by daily consumption of oil or consumption every two days. The product with a specific gravity of 100 to 200 g is the most popular among buyers.

In addition to butter, there is also such a category of products as spreads - a mixture of milk and vegetable fat, which is characterized by a lower price, so these products are especially relevant for people who have to save money.
