From FINE CEO: 2018 Planning with a Purpose, Development Company: AI, Blockchain, IoT, Kyiv, Ukraine

If I read another article about recreating myself / my business / my relationship / my "fill the void" in the new year, I will scream.

Of course, I love a new beginning and appreciate the official one, close to the chapter, but in reality you can start over, start a new habit, or change course at any time. Starting a successful business requires planning, turning, and changing throughout the year, not just January. In an effort to overcome new year, new you, I share three practices that I use as FINE, Development Company: AI, Blockchain, IoT, Kyiv, Ukraine, CEO to create new opportunities and continual improvement throughout the year.

Make a plan to make a plan.

At FINE branding agency, we schedule all our follow-up appointments throughout the year at once. So everyone already knows the dates and times when we will be doing quarterly planning, reviews, all teams, retro and state of company meetings throughout the year. Calendars fill up, people rest, dogs have to groom, and planning ahead makes these appointments a priority so people can plan their lives around them. I take this approach with every repetitive thing in my life. The amazing freedom you feel when you have multiple bumper strips in place.

Make mistakes often. Recalibrate. Make mistakes again.

Some of the best advice I've ever been given is to make new mistakes. I never expect our company to be perfect. But I expect that we will not repeat the same mistake over and over. This mentality has helped our team be much more fearless in our pursuits and ultimately produce innovative work. If something doesn't work, no sweat, something else. FINE has two-week retrospectives, a chance for us to discuss what works, what doesn't, and how we can adjust our sails. We celebrate what doesn't work the same way we celebrate what it does, and it helps keep the conversation going.

Make the team a priority. Everyday.

You could throw your first two sentences away and just commit, and you have great company every day of the year. The FINE agency team is the soul of our company and the only reason we have done this for almost twenty years in business. Because of this, I spend a lot of time figuring out how FINE Ukraine and I can support them, challenge them, make them feel grateful and help them achieve their personal goals and ambitions. The FINE branding agency certainly has "perks" - unlimited vacations, free lunch, anniversary gifts, study scholarships, and more, but that's not our culture. Our culture manifests itself every day and supports each other, listens sincerely to each other, reinforces each other, pushes each other for the better, and encourages healthy conflict. And I don't do this culture, and our team does it together every day. And I will fight with all my might to protect them and the culture they live in. This is an ongoing job for me, but the best way I've found to do this is by talking to them. Sure, sometimes it sounds like scheduled checks, quarterly reviews, polls, but many times it means connecting with another person and just listening.

As you move into the new year and plan for 2018, I want to send a simple reminder that it's never too late to start again. Therefore, if you make a new plan today, note what did not work out, and be grateful to the people around you who will do something better next time.
